On 9 and 15 October 2020, the Coordinator ‘Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)’ and the Joint Coordinator ‘Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL)’ hosted 2 sessions of the online workshop ‘Portfolio of Competences and Learning Outcomes (PCLO)’.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, this workshop planned in the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) in April 2020 had to be cancelled and replaced with an online alternative.
During this online workshop PCLO, a core group of staff members of all the consortium partner HEIs worked together to set-up or adjust the PCLOs of all Master programmes in aquatic sciences and management involved in CORRIENTE XXI; in order to
1) improve the quality of education and sustainable management of aquatic ecosystems, both of high importance to society,
2) better match the labour market needs.
During the first session of this online workshop (9/10), all partners had the opportunity to exchange of knowledge and good practices on learning outcomes, educational matrices, institutional procedures and innovative teaching methods. The survey outcomes from our workshop in 20-24 January were presented and a short summary of the main outcomes per target group (students – former students – lecturers – employers) were highlighted. Afterwards a work session in different breakout rooms gave all partners the opportunity to work on their educational matrices together with educational experts. During the second session (15/10), the educational matrices and learning outcomes were finalized and discussed.
Out of the 36 invitations, 18 participants attended this online event.
