On 6 and 10 November 2020, the Coordinator ‘Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)’ and the Joint Coordinator ‘Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL)’ hosted 2 sessions of the online workshop ‘Modernisation of Higher Education Institutions (HEI)’.
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, this workshop, planned in the Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) in April 2020, had to be cancelled and replaced with an online alternative.
During this online workshop, a core group of staff members of all the consortium partner HEIs worked together to:
1) clarify the specific structures and support needed by the partner institutions in Peru and Ecuador;
2) improve the management of their Master programmes and enhance their international activity.
During the first session of this online workshop (6/11), all partners had the opportunity to exchange of knowledge and good practices on general management of Master programmes (incl. administrative /financial strategy), student recruitment, alumni associations, quality assessment, internationalisation and funding opportunities.
Both during session 1 (6/11) and session 2 (10/11) all partners worked together in different online breakout rooms focusing on the following thematic topics:
1) General management of Master programmes
3) Quality assessment
4) Student recruitment
At the end of the workshop, each Peruvian and Ecuadorian partner will have produced a working document per thematic topic, which will act as key documents towards continuous improvement of the management of the involved Master programmes and the enhancement of international activity.
Out of the 36 invitations, 18 participants attended this online event.
