SUMMER SCHOOL

SUMMER SCHOOL ‘APPLIED TRANSBOUNDARY FIELDWORK’

20 Ecuadorian and Peruvian staff members and 32 Ecuadorian and Peruvian students will benefit from mobility opportunities to attend this activity.

 

The Summer School will take place in El Ñuro, less than 100 km south of the border with Ecuador, where UPCH has a marine coastal station in the Peruvian Mangroves Natural Park.  This Summer School will provide the comprehensive exercise for teaching staff and technical staff of the Partner Countries to practice their newly acquired skills regarding research-based and innovative fieldwork practices and curriculum development. The students will benefit from this Summer School as they will be immersed into these new teaching practices and transboundary environmental issues.

 

Each participant will write an activity and mobility report on her/his experience that will be used to develop the training modules for the Master curriculum.

 

CONFERENCE

INTEGRATIVE CONFERENCE

10 Ecuadorian and Peruvian staff members and 20 Ecuadorian and Peruvian students will benefit from mobility opportunities to attend this activity.

 

A 2-day international conference will bring multidisciplinary scientists and various

stakeholders together on specific topics related to marine and freshwater ecosystem sciences and management. Novel scientific integrative knowledge will be presented addressing 21st century environmental issues on Climate Change assessment and aquatic ecosystems in the areas of conservation, ecosystem services, policy and management, trans-boundary ecology and Climate Change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
